Want to work with QAFE and don’t know how to start? Head over to our video area for a step by step guide!
Now, we are not Spielberg, and Joanna is not a professional voice actor (but a professional IT / DBA consultant), but we are pretty sure the video’s will help you find your way around QAFE, within a couple of minutes.
The best way to start QAFE is by using the QAFE Builder-plugin for Eclipse. See the video “Getting started with the QAML Builder” for more information on this.
The subsequent videos are divided in several groups:
* The Development Environment
* The Components
* The reusable components

Play with QAFE
Great news: we’ve uploaded 10 video’s to kick start enterprise application development for those who downloaded QAFE. This new video section compliments the Manual, FAQ and Tutorial chapters on this site. It is a behind-the-scenes look at some of the most common tasks you will be working with (in Eclipse) such as creating QAML-files, setting Panel-, Toolbar- and Menu definitions, and other features. So hurry over, sit back and let our (favorite!
colleague Joanna walk you through some of the options found in QAFE’s UI Builder!
Try our drag ’n drop QAML UI Builder!
If you request your free trial license key on www.qafe.com/registration you will notice we added the option to download the QAML UI Builder extension as well! The extension (see this page for details) is an Eclipse (3.5) plug-in that allows the creation of a web application without hardly any knowledge of Java, HTML or QAML. As long as you can ‘draw’ it with this extension, QAFE does the rest and the app will be directly available in Flex or GWT (or whichever other supporting Web 2.0 environment). On your mark? Get set… start building!
New drag ’n drop QAML UI Builder!
Great news! From Q3 2010 onward, the new drag ’n drop QAML UI Builder extension (take a look here) will be available. The extension is an Eclipse (3.5) plug-in that allows the creation of a web application without hardly any knowledge of Java, HTML or QAML. As long as you can ‘draw’ it with this extension, QAFE does the rest and the app will be directly available in Flex or GWT (or whichever other supporting Web 2.0 environment). As a result, the focus stays where it should be: with the application and its functionality. Enjoy!
How to: Large XML/QAML files
Of course, one of the most frequent found comments on XML in general is that the XML files can become quite large (maintainability would suffer). When you are using versioning systems like CVS or SVN, merging situations can occur and will result in invalid XML. The problem becomes bigger of course if the file is large.
We recognized this issue when designing QAFE and tackled this problem by supporting automatic merging of QAML, QAFE’s XML, files. (more…)
