Roadmap to Open Source Community Edition!

The creation of an open source platform has been a long time coming. After an extensive inventory of all the possibilities, the die has now been cast. License conditions have been established. The pathway toward the first community edition of QAFE has been outlined. It is planned for release in early 2011. As early as September 2010, there will also be a complete trial version (Enterprise Edition) available for download as well. For details and other launch moments, bookmark www.qafe.com/roadmap!

New drag ’n drop QAML UI Builder!

Great news! From Q3 2010 onward, the new drag ’n drop QAML UI Builder extension (take a look here) will be available. The extension is an Eclipse (3.5) plug-in that allows the creation of a web application without hardly any knowledge of Java, HTML or QAML. As long as you can ‘draw’ it with this extension, QAFE does the rest and the app will be directly available in Flex or GWT (or whichever other supporting Web 2.0 environment). As a result, the focus stays where it should be: with the application and its functionality. Enjoy!

Web2.0 + SOA = QAFE

As you know most SOAs are able to tie things together, but the services are not necessarily intelligent. The data and the logic remain in the familiar environment, like in stored procedures in your database or even in Cobol. Today, some web applications frameworks, such as Flex and GWT, offer the ability to interact with your backend services. But which of the two would you choose (if it was a choice between those two only)? Here’s our take.

QAFE manual

Just to give an impression of basic concepts, working with components, events, business-actions, services, resources, transactions, vpd & JNDI configuration, and of course running applications. Please note that the excerpts from QAFE’s User Guide on this website are for demonstration purposes only.
